Obituary

Terry Wayne Cuzzell, age 68, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Diagnosed in early August with a rare and aggressive cancer, he faced a brief but courageous battle before gaining his angel wings five weeks later.

Terry was born on May 14, 1958, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Leonard K. Cuzzell Sr. and Vera Grayson Cuzzell.

Throughout his life, Terry faced physical challenges and disability with remarkable resilience, strength, and dignity. His legendary sense of humor inspired everyone who knew him, while his generous heart, bright smile, and unmistakable laugh could light up any room. Although his mobility was limited, his spirit, love, and presence knew no bounds. Family was Terry’s greatest joy. He cherished being a father and grandfather, and his daughters and two grandchildren will forever carry his unwavering love in their hearts. Terry loved sharing his passion of sports—especially baseball—with his grandchildren, Ashton and Cayleigh. Though his disability prevented him from playing, he found great joy in passing along the knowledge he had gained over years on the field.

Terry is survived by Roxanne D. Cuzzell, his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 44 years. They began dating at age 17 and raised two daughters, Lauren Cuzzell Fraysher (Michael) and Jami L. Cuzzell (future husband, Mason Kern); his grandchildren, Ashton and Cayleigh Fraysher; his brother, Timothy "Timmy" M. Cuzzell; his sisters-in-law, Debi Myers and Traci Hamann (Donald); his nieces, Amy Myers and Sarah Myers; his nephew, Timothy "TJ" Hamann (Kathleen); his great-nephew, Jamie Dickey; and his great-niece, Iris Hamann. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard K. Cuzzell Sr.; his mother, Vera Grayson Cuzzell; and his brother, Leonard "Lenny" Cuzzell Jr.

After thoughtful discussions with Terry and his family, no formal funeral service will be held. Instead, the family invites you to honor his memory by sharing a favorite story, photograph, or message of sympathy on his memorial page https://charlstoncremationcenter.com. Terry’s life was enriched by the connections he made, and your memories will bring great comfort to his family during this difficult time.
