Zachary Michael Hawkins, age 35, of Charleston, SC passed away on August 17, 2024.

Zachary was born on August 7, 1989 to Steven and Penny Olchowski in Grosse Pointe, MI. After Zachary graduated from Catholic Central in 2008, he graduated from the Marine Corps in 2009. He went on to study Marketing at Grand Valley State University. After graduating with a degree in International Business, he started his job at Ozkan Industries.

Zachary met Berna Ozkan in 2014 while studying together at the Business School in Grenoble, France. Zachary and Berna married in 2018 and went on to have their daughter, Lydia Hawkins.

Zachary loved adventure and the outdoors. He was a passionate fisherman and woodsman. He was charismatic and outgoing, every person was charmed by his smile. Zachary was the most generous, warm soul. He told humorous and witty stories that had you laugh-crying. He enjoyed animals and history with thorough knowledge of both. He was the most giving, selfless father, husband, son, brother, and uncle. We remember him most playing with his daughter, and we cherish the laughs and memories he brought to us all.

Zachary was predeceased by his father, Steven Hawkins, and grandparents, Edward and Evelyn Olchowski. He is survived by his mother, Penelope Hawkins and his siblings, Adam Olchowski, Eric Olchowski, Amy Nedervelt (Logan Nedervelt, nephews Cole, Brooks, Grady) and Nicholas Olchowski (Kasey Olchowski, nieces Eleanor and Emilia). He is survived by parents-in-law, Mustafa and Martina Ozkan, and brother-in-law, Kenan Ozkan.
