Timothy Franklin Nelson

Tim Nelson, 71, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, in Charleston, SC with his wife by his side.

He was born in Akron, OH on March 29, 1951, to the late Richard F. Nelson & Christine E. Nelson.  He attended Mogadore High School and 2 years at Akron University.  Tim met his wife, Anne, in Greensboro, NC, and they were married on May 23, 1987.  He retired from BellSouth on November 10, 2006, with 35 years of service.  After retirement, they moved to Surfside Beach, SC, where he loved the ocean, shelling, body surfing, and having his beer on the front porch at Neal & Pam's. Tim was loved by all and never met a stranger.  His wit and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.  Tim was the best and most loving husband one could wish for.

Surviving are his wife Anne, sister Kathleen Welsh, brother Ralph, nieces Cauleen & Kali Welsh, sisters-in-law Debbie (Ray) Swanson, Jean (Horace) Denny, brother-in-law Michael (Tracy) Hunter, nephews Michael & Cameron Swanson and a family friend Phillip Ormes.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.  Donations in Tim's memory may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
