Obituary

Thomas Lee Rudman, 75, of Huger, SC, passed away on February 26, 2024.

Tom was born in Denver, CO on May 14, 1948, the son of Albert and Bette Rudman. He graduated from Lincoln HS and attended the University of Colorado. He was a life long Buff's fan and was thrilled when his daughter, Jennifer, graduated from CU.

Tom worked in the Grocery business, both in Denver and then after his move to SC in 1998. But when he retired from his grocery career, he took the most rewarding job of his life, outfitting MRAPs for the Armed Services during the war in Afghanistan. Tom was a member of the US Coast Guard Reserves from 1968 to 1974. He was very proud of his own military service and the tradition of military service in both his family and in Tanya's. His passions were travel, especially cruising, the Denver Broncos (when they won), but most of all his family, and the time spent with them.

Tom is survived by his wife Tanya, his daughter, Jennifer Sawyer and son-in-law Jason Sawyer, of Mt Pleasant, SC; son, Jeffrey of Huger, SC; sister-in-law Kolleen (Ron) Rudman of Parker, CO; three grandchildren Matthew Sawyer, Allison Sawyer and Braden Sawyer; two nephews, a niece, and eight grand-nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother, Ron Rudman and brother-in-law, Larry Smith.

A Memorial/Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on March 10, 2024, at The French Huguenot Church, 136 Church Street, Charleston, SC 29402.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Gary Sinise Foundation whose mission is caring for veterans and first responders and their families.
