Dr. Thomas Wilton Dovell was born October 31, 1948 to Floyd I. Dovell Jr. and Cornelia VanNess Dovell. He grew up in Riverland Terrace on James Island, SC and graduated from James Island High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic then established a Chiropractic Practice in Missouri and later in Alabama. In 1997, he retired and returned to James Island. He re-established himself working for chiropractors that needed time off. He was very successful and his patients loved him.

Thom died June 14, 2022 and is survived by his wife Katherine George Dovell, his son Thomas Wilton Dovell, Jr., Brooke Benson Dovell, two grandchildren Ella and Ben, two brothers, Floyd I. Dovell III and Edward VanNess Dovell and their families.

Thom loved golfing, motorcycles, being on the river with family and friends and especially visiting with his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
