Teresa Ann Vandermaas, 82, passed away on March 19th 2023, at her home in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Terry was born in Washington D. C. on September 12th 1940, to Florence and Frank Gulli. She was the oldest of four siblings, including her brothers Mick and John and her sister Lori, who preceded her in death.

Spending time with her family and friends was Terry's greatest joy. Terry married her loving husband Jos Vandermaas on September 29, 1962. She treasured her three daughters, Maureen, Michelle, and Nicole, her sons-in-law Russ, Steve, and John, and especially her beloved grandchildren, Cooper and Alex Lorraine Vandermaas-Peeler, Mark and Aidan Militzer, Anna Ruemelin, and Colby, Beckett, and Carson Schleier. She is also survived by her brother John and her brother Mick, his wife Karen, and their daughters, Lauren, Layne, and Jordan, and their families. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends who loved her dearly.

Terry was passionate about education and after obtaining a Masters degree, worked as a reading teacher at St Ann's Catholic School in Charlotte, N.C. for many years. She raised her children in Charlotte and enjoyed celebrating her strong sense of faith with her close friends and prayer group there. She and Jos moved to Mt Pleasant 12 years ago in order to take an important role in the everyday lives of their youngest grandsons. She shared her love of reading with her grandchildren, spending many hours reading their favorite books at bedtime. She also adored attending their school performances and graduations, sports events, art shows, and plays – any chance to support and cheer for them, she even loved driving carpool. Terry loved gardening and flowers, especially roses, and was well-known for remembering all the plant names she ever learned. Terry's joyous smile and love of life is remembered by all who knew her.

Terry's funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday March 31st at Christ Our King church on 1149 Russell Drive in Mount Pleasant, S.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Angels NC.
