Susan Denise Woods Ramsey passed away on Tuesday, March 24th, following an extended illness. Born on June 28, 1957, in Greenville, South Carolina, Susan was the daughter of the late William "Monk" Woods and the late Jacqueline Holloway Woods. She was also preceded by her brother, William Gregory Woods.
Susan graduated from Spartanburg High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Regis University School of Nursing. Susan dedicated more than twenty years of her life to nursing, working in various fields. She eventually retired as Nurse Manager from Roper St. Francis, specializing in Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-eight years, Phil Ramsey; her sons Nathan Ramsey of Ravenel and Paul Ramsey of Walterboro; and her cherished grandchildren, William and Sarah Ramsey. She is also survived by her brother Mark Woods of Middlesboro, KY; her sister Deborah Forry of Spartanburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was known for her kindness and generosity. She found true happiness spending time with her family and working outdoors on her farm. An exceptionally talented artist, Susan touched many lives with her selfless gifts of artwork. She especially enjoyed pencil drawing nature and animals, leaving many friends and acquaintances with treasured drawings of their favorite pets. Creating these memories for others brought her great joy.
A private family remembrance will be held later by the immediate family including her two beloved horses, Cotton and Gunnyboy.
