Shirley W. McGee of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Passed away December 17, 2022. Her late parents were Chester Wallace Haile Jr. and Iola Belle Haile.

She is survived by her sister Suzanne Haile Klement of Acworth, Ga., nieces Elizabeth Dwyer of Midlothian, Va., Tracy Walker of Kennesaw, Ga., great nephew Reed Walker and great nieces Carson Walker and Carter and Harper Dwyer.

Shirley was a graduate of Druid Hills High School, Wesleyan College and earned a master's degree in education from the University of Virginia.

After teaching several years, she became principal of the Vonkolnitz School of Learning Disabilities and later taught for many years at Sullivans Island Elementary School.

She was an avid supporter of animal rescue organizations. If you wish, make a donation to one in memory of Shirley.
