Sherry A. Huston, 88, Mount Pleasant, SC, formerly of Hudson, Ohio, passed away on Sunday February 25, 2024.

Sherry was born on March 29, 1935 in Lorain, Ohio to Ralph and Dorothy Faris.  She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Sally Widder.

Sherry earned a Master's Degree in Education from Kent State University, and it was there she met her husband, Roy, in the mid-1950's.  They were married on June 20, 1956 and resided for their 61 year marriage in Hudson.   In the 1950's and 1960's Sherry taught third grade in the Hudson School System and made lifelong impressions on many students, some of whom kept in touch with her until the end of her life.

Sherry and Roy had three children: Todd (Christine) of Lake Wylie, SC; Holly Huston of Sebring, OH;  and Carrie Huston (the late Ron Robinson) of Mount Pleasant, SC.  She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Grace Huston, Bella Huston, Trent (Raven) Maxwell, and Jessie Miller, as well as a great-grandson, Ezekiel Maxwell.

Later in life, Sherry became the branch manager of Progressive Credit Union (now BFG Federal) in Hudson and worked there until her retirement in 2000.  She continued to live in Hudson until Roy's death in 2017, when she relocated to South Carolina.

Sherry loved people and chitchatting with friends and strangers alike.  She loved a good martini and the Cleveland Indians.   Until her death, Sherry was a happy, laughing, smiling person who charmed everyone she met.

In addition to her children, Sherry leaves a brother, Kelly Faris (Marty) of Put-in-Bay and Perrysburg, Ohio, many nieces and nephews, former students who remember her fondly, and countless friends in Ohio and South Carolina.   She also leaves behind three lifelong friends: June Lehr, Marge Heppner, and Naomi Brown—having met in college, these women kept in touch for 70 years.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Savannah Grace at The Palms for their limitless kindness.  Although Sherry was only with you for three weeks, we knew she was happy, safe, and content there.  We wish it had been longer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
