Ruth Burnham Segee Sturke, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died peacefully on Thursday, Feb 29, 2024.

Born and raised in Essex, CT, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion Segee.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Sturke, and her only brother, Donald Segee.

After graduating Pratt HS in Essex, CT, Ruth went to hairdressing school before marrying the boy next door in 1955. She was a stay at home mom until her youngest was in HS and then enjoyed several years working at Jefferson TWP Daycare. She and Stan were avid campers bringing the family to Myrtle Beach for many years. Eventually, they retired in Garden City, SC and continued to host family vacations for many years to come. After Stan passed, she moved in with her daughter, Sally, and her family in Mount Pleasant.

She is survived by her 3 children, Sandra Trochanowski (Tom) of Neptune, NJ, Sally Byrnes (John), and Susan Mooney both of Mount Pleasant.  Also, her grandchildren that were her pride and joy include Kelly, Casey, Corey, Sean, Jenna, and Erin.  She had two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Dominic. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family.
