Robert Bruce "Smitty" Smith went to his heavenly home Wednesday, April 5th surrounded by family and friends. Smitty was born on April 15th, 1958 in Princeton, WV where he attended Princeton High School. He worked many years for Norfolk Southern Railroads in Bluefield, VA where he was known as "R.B." before moving to Ladson, SC. He enjoyed many days riding his motorcycle, camping with family, and soaking in the sun on area beaches. Smitty was a Mason with Fort Dorchester Lodge.

Smitty is preceded in death by his parents Robert W. and Betty G. (Miller), brother David, grandparents George Rucker, Edith, Marvin Miller, and his most beloved grandmother Betty L. Miller (Weikle). He is survived by his loving wife Sharron, sisters Anne Pettigrew, Virginia (Michael Leard), and Susan Blackwood, children Rachel Davenport (William Mark), Rebekah, Robert D. (Tracey), Hollie (Justin Seder), and Dane (Joanna). He is also survived by the pride of his life, his grandchildren Bailey, Kierstyn, Alaina, Kalleigh, Ransom, Raleigh, Briar, and Callum as well as many loved nieces, nephew, and cousins.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Daniel "Frosty" Frost and his family for their continued love and support throughout Smitty's life and after.

In keeping with Smitty's wishes there will be no formal services. His ashes will be spread in the Atlantic to forever enjoy the salty spray and calming breezes and on the country mountain roads of his WV home by friends.
