Paula Kennedy, 67, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at MUSC surrounded by family. After a long health battle, she is at peace and free of pain. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Zipf (Karas).

Paula was born on January 2, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Steve and Laverne Karas, and the wife of Richard. Paula spent most of her life in Ohio, but moved to South Carolina with her husband and daughter in 2008. She loved the beach.

Paula loved to cook and bake. She spent a lot of her time looking up new recipes to cook for her family.
Paula was a kind and compassionate person, who did anything she could for those she loved. She adopted her daughter, Rachel, when she was 11 months old and loved her deeply. Always. She was the best mommy. Without her, the life her daughter has could have been much different.

She will be missed deeply and loved always. Bunches and bunches.
