Nicholas Scott Pruett, age 30, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on March 27, 2026.

Born on April 11, 1995, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Nicholas was the beloved son of Terry and Susan Pruett. He dedicated four years to teaching history at Fort Dorchester High School, where he made a lasting impact on his students and colleagues.

Nicholas had a deep love for life's simple joys. He was an enthusiastic fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and Taylor Swift, and his interests spanned music of all kinds, reading, musicals, and video games. He cherished time spent with friends over brunch, enjoyed board games, trips to the beach, and the energy of live rock concerts.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anne and John Rainey; his paternal grandparents, Sandy Dulin and Jesse Pruett; and his uncles, Fred Crowder Jr, Andy Pruett, and Charles "Chuck" Pruett.

Nicholas is survived by his loving husband, David Tantlinger; his parents, Terry and Susan Pruett; his brothers, Christopher, Brandon, and Daniel Pruett; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

In honor of Nicholas's life and legacy, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Trevor Project or the Human Rights Campaign.
