Mavis Josephine (Jo) Lunsford 92, went home to the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023. Born in Wyoming County, WV, on October 22nd, 1930, to father, HC Walk, deceased and mother, Mavis Woolsey, deceased. She lived in Mt Pleasant, SC, with her daughter, Virginia Kathleen Lunsford. Her children also include daughter, Jolynn Province, and husband, Ted Province; son, James Gilmore Lunsford Jr., and wife, Marsha; son, Hal Morgan Lunsford; son, Michael Shawn Lunsford, and wife, Lisa. She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she saw often. Her family meant everything to her as she did to them. She loved to cook and can vegetables out of the family gardens in the summer while spending time with family. She found pure joy in making her freezer jam and keeping her family's freezers well stocked! Her beloved springer spaniels, Duke and Luke, brought her endless love and comfort. She passed after a brief illness at Roper St Francis Hospital in Mt Pleasant and the family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff for the incredible care and compassion that they provided. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and location to be determined.
