Margie Ann Martin Spraker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, left her earthly home on July 14, 2026, in Summerville, South Carolina, following a brief illness. She was 82 years old.

Born on December 12, 1943, in DeRidder, Louisiana, Margie was the cherished daughter of the late Vernon Martin and Margaret Cassile Graham Martin. She spent her childhood in southwest Virginia, where she met the love of her life, Freddy Spraker. High school sweethearts, Margie and Freddy built a beautiful life together over nearly 65 years of marriage - a love story that stood as a testament to unwavering devotion, enduring friendship, and unconditional love.

Above all else, Margie's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted wife and an extraordinary mother who poured her heart into raising her three sons: Freddy Spraker Jr. (Pam), Tim Spraker (Angela), and Andy Spraker (Heather). Her nurturing spirit, unconditional love, and steady guidance shaped the lives of her children and created a foundation of love that will continue for generations.

Margie was a loving and devoted grandmother to Crystal Summers, Brandy Vennemann, Courtney Baker, Kayla Webb, Maggie Spraker, and Lily Spraker. She treasured the special relationships she built with each of her grandchildren and found so much joy in watching them grow, celebrating their milestones, and being a loving presence in their lives. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Ainsley, Beau, Emberly, Nova, and Atlas. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and nothing brought her greater happiness than seeing her family continue to grow through the next generation.

As the oldest of five siblings, Margie shared a lifelong bond with Mildred Ritter, Betty Dunnigan, Barbara Mills, and David Martin. From childhood through the many chapters of their adult lives, they remained deeply connected, sharing not only a family name but a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and unwavering support.

Margie also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

Throughout her professional career, Margie was the ultimate anchor in executive administration, known for her exceptional organization, professionalism, and dedication. One of the most memorable chapters of her career came during the 1980s when she served as Executive Assistant to the President of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Ft. Lauderdale-Palm Beach Florida. The position afforded her remarkable opportunities and unforgettable experiences, many of which she delighted in sharing with her family.

Margie embraced life with curiosity and an adventurous spirit. Alongside Freddy, she traveled the world, creating treasured memories in destinations including Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. She never took life's blessings for granted and found joy not only in the places she visited, but in the people beside her and the memories they created together.

Over the course of her life, Margie called many places home - from her birthplace in Louisiana, to her childhood in southwest Virginia, where she and Freddy began raising their family, to years spent in Florida, and finally to Summerville, South Carolina, where she lived for the past decade. Yet no matter where life took her, Margie's greatest gift was creating a home where family, friends, and even strangers felt welcomed, cared for, and loved. Home wasn't simply a place to Margie - it was a feeling she created for everyone fortunate enough to know her.

To know Margie was to feel welcomed. She possessed a rare ability to make everyone feel loved, cared for, and accepted. Her nurturing nature, generous heart, and genuine kindness touched countless lives. Her kitchen was often the heart of her home, where she delighted in preparing meals for family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to walk through her door. Feeding others was more than a gesture - it was her love language. She found immense joy in bringing people together around her table, where laughter was shared, stories were told, and everyone left feeling like family.

In recent years, one of Margie's greatest companions and daily joys was her beloved dog, Cassie Marie, whose faithful presence brought her endless comfort and happiness.

The family will gather privately in August for a Celebration of Life to honor Margie, share cherished memories, and celebrate the beautiful legacy of love she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter in Summerville, South Carolina, in honor of Margie's lifelong love for animals and her beloved companion, Cassie.

Though our hearts are heavy with her absence, we take comfort in knowing that the love Margie so freely gave lives on in every life she touched. Her table may now be empty, but the love she served around it will continue to nourish the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will endure for generations to come.
