Linda B. McDougall, 82, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 22, 1941, in Paisley, Scotland, to Robert and Violet Baxter. Linda moved with her family to the United States at the age of 4 and settled in Stratford, CT. After graduating from Stratford High School, she worked at Pan Am airlines, which aligned with her passion for travel.

Linda married John McDougall in October of 1965. Linda and John had two boys, Jay and Drew, who inherited their mother's adventurous spirit and passion for life. Linda was a devoted and supportive mother, who encouraged her sons to pursue their dreams and hobbies. She was also a proud grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren: Mathew, Lara, Quinn, Addisyn, Scarlet, and Christian.

She lived in Stratford, CT for many years, before moving to Florida and settling in Sun City Center.

Linda had a remarkable talent for lawn bowling, which she discovered at an early age honing her skills at Fairchild Wheeler in Bridgeport Ct. She quickly rose to the top of the sport, winning numerous national and international titles. She was inducted into the World Lawn Bowling Hall of Fame in 2016. As a proud member of Team USA, she participated in six North American Challenge Tournaments, the Asia Pacific Games in 2001 and 2009, and the Atlantic Rim Games in 2005 and 2007. Later, she went on to serve as a Team USA Selector for several years.

Linda was predeceased by her husband, John, and is survived by her two sons and their families:  Jay McDougall, Marcy McDougall (daughter in law) and children Mathew, Lara, Quinn, and Addisyn; and Drew McDougall and his children Scarlet and Christian. She is also survived by her two brothers and their families: Robert and Kim Baxter, with sons Scott and Keith; and David and Kimberly Baxter, with their two sons Chris and Iain - along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Lawn Bowling Federation or the American Cancer Society .
