Laura Stockdell Riley, 47, passed away on January 16, 2023, at Roper Hospice Cottages, Mount Pleasant, SC. Born January 11, 1976, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of William Meade Stockdell III and the late Carolyn Skinner Stockdell. Laura was raised in Simpsonville, SC, and lived in Zionsville, IN; Bloomington, IN; Irmo, SC; and Chapin, SC; before moving to Mount Pleasant, SC in August of 2022.

Laura graduated from Zionsville High School in 1994 and received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation from Indiana University in 1999. She worked at Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission from 2001-2006, Spring Hill High School from 2021-2022, and the College of Charleston in 2022. Despite all of her accomplishments, Laura will be best remembered for her caring heart toward all and fierce love for her children. Her memory will be carried by her daughter, Ella, and her sons, Owen and Grant.

In addition, she is survived by her sister, Virginia Stockdell (James Davis), West Columbia, SC; aunts, Frances Bell (Sammie), Bishopville, SC; Jackie Reardon (Bill), Clemson, SC; Gloria Grant (Emmett), Alliston, Ontario, Canada; Ruth Watkins (Phil), Lamar, SC; uncles, Bill Skinner (Brenda), Anderson, SC; and Jack Skinner (Angie), Winston-Salem, NC; and numerous cousins.

A private celebration of life for Laura's close family and friends will take place at a future date.
