THE QUEEN HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.

The always upbeat and indomitable Laura G. Dahl, known in her youth as "Legs Laura," graduated to Heaven on April 30, 2024, while on vacation in Charleston, South Carolina. Laura devoted her entire life to taking care of others whether it was giving a leg-up or a hand-out. Although her favorite saying was, "It's all about me," she was selfless beyond measure. No sacrifice was too great for any member of her family and for those who truly knew her, she always "suffered in silence."

Mom, Mommy, or Nana, Laura G. Dahl was the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who ever walked this earth. She was truly a gift from God. The void she has left behind will never be filled with anything other than treasured, positive, pleasant memories.

Mom possessed a wisdom like Solomon which was both a blessing and a curse for her children as we were growing up. She could be counted on for good, sound advice but she also had an uncanny way of "knowing" whenever one of us did something wrong. She loved others with every fiber of her being and kept her moral compass set rightly on course. She was quick to praise and give words of encouragement, but she was also no stranger to speaking her mind when a heartfelt rebuke was in order. Those who have been recipients of the dreaded "Laura Letter" know what that is all about!

Born on April 8, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA, Laura was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, U.S. Army MSG John Charles Dahl, Jr., her parents James Nathan and Florence Anna Gallagher, and her eight siblings. Laura fell in love with Charles "Charlie" Dahl, who was ten years her senior, when she was just a young girl in junior high. To hear Mom tell it, she knew right from the start that he was her man!

Laura G. Dahl is survived by her three children Kathleen L. (Earl) Dahl-Cox, Karen (Albert) Vanderzee, Wayne Charles (Cindy) Dahl, grandchildren Arlene (Steve) Mullen, John Charles (Laura) Dahl, Eric Dahl, Keith (Samantha) Marshall, Ashley (Will) Smith, Leslie Vanderzee, Wayne Charles Dahl, Jr., Haleigh Kehner, Anthony Kehner, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews plus countless friends including Frank (Tina) Zacco, the son of Laura's lifelong best friend since 2nd grade, Peggy Zacco, who predeceased Laura by less than 2 years.

Laura enjoyed a close relationship with her niece and friend, Florence Anne (Tommy) Grantland and the Grantland family, with whom she shared a great deal of time. Because of her neighbors who were also her dear friends, Laura (Mom) chose to live her entire post-Army life on Willows Ave. in Folcroft, PA.

As a family, we miss her in death but collectively celebrate her extraordinary life. Mom's favorite charity was St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
