Karol Y. Hodge, 72, of McClellanville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 21, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Karol was the daughter of Elmira Edith Feaster Yost and the late Gilbert Carl Yost. Known for her generous spirit and compassionate heart, Karol dedicated 35 years of her life to serving others as a paramedic before retiring. She never hesitated to help those in need and touched countless lives through her kindness and selflessness.

Karol had a passion for travel and a gift for making friends wherever she went. Her genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert W. Hodge; her children, Billy Batts of Pennsylvania and Tracey Hanley of Johns Island; her stepchildren, Matthew Hodge Inman and McKenna Hodge Inman; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was and continues to be truly loved by her family and friends who miss her dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided. In lieu of flowers, Karol requested that memorial donations be made to Agape Hospice in her honor.
