Joe Leopold, 77, of Charleston, SC passed away peacefully on 20 August 2025.

Born in Charleston, SC, Joe was the son of Joseph and Alma (Tapp) Leopold. he is survived by his wife, Carol Sherer Leopold, his brother, Lowell (Retta) Leopold, his sons Joseph (Kaycie) Leopold, Jr., Matt (Heather) Leopold and Shawn  (Paige) Elliott. He also was beloved grandfather to Courtney (Nate), Dillion (Christi), Aspen and Effie as well as great grandfather to David, Bryer, Micah and Eliana.

Joe proudly served for four years in the US Navy. After his military service, he began his professional life in automobile sales where he worked for over 50 years. He managed several auto dealerships in the Charleston area during his career.

He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, his kind heart, his fun sense of humor, and his zeal for life. He dearly enjoyed riding in his boat on the waters around Charleston. His impact on those who knew him - whether through a handshake at the car lot, relaxing with family and friends, or a quiet moment by the water -- will be felt for generations. Everyone he touched will remember and appreciate the time he spent with them and the energy and enthusiastic way he lived his life. He will surely be missed by many.
