John "Ed" Lambert, 59, of Summerville, SC, passed away on September 6th, 2024.
Ed was born in Pontotoc, MS on May 31st, 1965 to John and Patty Lambert. At the age of 17, after graduating from Sun Coast High School in West Palm Beach, FL, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving 30 years and earning the rank of Command Master Chief before retirement. He was a proud veteran of the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom, during which he earned many honors and awards including a prestigious Bronze Star. While enjoying semi-retirement, Ed loved working in the pro shop at Westcott Golf Club.
Ed's commitment to and love for his family was unmatched and unwavering. He is survived and adored by his wife of 36 years, Joy; daughter, Elizabeth; son, Chuck; and his daughter-in-law, Heather, with whom he enjoyed traveling, singing karaoke, attending sporting events and concerts, and cheering for his beloved Florida State Seminoles. Several times a week, Ed could be found surrounded by his many friends on one of his favorite local golf courses.
A dedicated brother and uncle, Ed leaves behind his sister, Cheryl; brother, Michael; sisters-in-law, Tracy, Jo, and Joanne; brothers-in-law, Gary, Carl, and Rodney; niece, Sara; and nephews, Brian and Ethan.
An event celebrating Ed's life, love, and memory will be held at the Golf Club at Westcott Plantation on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ed's honor to The Fisher House Foundation.
