Ms. Joan Mary-Fredenburg-Dee, 87 of Charleston, SC, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Jo was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1936. She was married to John Joseph Dee Jr. of Philadelphia, PA. During her life she lived in Fairbanks, AK, Burlington, NJ, Niceville, FL, and settled in Charleston, SC. Ms. Dee proudly worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Political Science Department for the College of Charleston from 1990 to 2005. She is survived by her brother David. She knew she was loved by her three sons John, Kelly, Shawn and wife Lizzette and grandchildren, Rachael and Ryan. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their faith, play lots of sports, become good students, and grow into wonderful young adults. Jo loved spending time on Folly Beach with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Catherine of Minneapolis, MN and siblings Catherine, Dorothy, Jack, Jim, Betty, Gene, Patty, and Colleen. Ms. Dee was a parishioner at the Church of the Nativity on James Island. Memorial donations may be made to Roper St. Francis Foundation Hospice.
