Jean Pepper Wales, age 86, of Spartanburg SC, passed away on May 16th, 2026.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, on May 28th at St. Mathew's Episcopal Church in Spartanburg. Her ashes will be placed alongside her husband, Alfred Wales, in the church's memorial garden.

Jean was born in Brownsville, PA, on May 3rd, 1940, to Myrtle and Charles Pepper.

Jean spent her adult life as a natural caregiver, she volunteered in assisted living facilities in Salisbury N.C. and cared for her husband, 2 children, grandchildren, and in-laws through illness and challenges. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, live music, crafts, and cooking. She was also actively involved in many activities and groups at St. Matthew's.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 60 years Alfred Wales, her daughter Sherry Lynn Jennings, and her son in law Rusty Jennings.

Jean is survived by her twin sister Jane Brown (extended Ohio and Penn family), son Joseph (Eddie) Wales (wife Tracy, daughters Ella, Avery, Annie) and her grandson Nolan Jennings (wife Chyanne, sons Jack and Rylan).
