Helen Beckwith (Offutt), 84, of Charleston, SC, and previously Perrysburg, OH, and Bethlehem, PA, passed away on November 8, 2025. surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born July 22, 1941, in Parkville, MD, the daughter of Lowell & Marie Offutt (Wisnom). She graduated from Western Mayland College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Education and later in life went back to Cedar Crest College to obtain her nursing degree (RN).

Helen was a devoted wife to her husband David Beckwith, a loving mother to her children, Craig (Kelli) and Mark Humphrey and Ellen McManus (Paul). She was also a proud grandmother to her cherished grandchildren, William and Zach Humphrey, and Cooper, Tatum, Hatcher, and Parker McManus. Helen's family was the center of her life, and she found immense joy in watching them grow and thrive.

Helen was a friend to all who knew her, always bringing warmth and laughter into every room. She had a fun and feisty personality and always loved a good joke. During her tenure as a nurse, Helen demonstrated exceptional commitment to providing quality care to her patients. In her younger years, she enjoyed oil painting, needlepoint, and especially loved spending time with her pugs (Chang & PJ). Making her family recipe Christmas cookies with her grandchildren William & Zach, was always a cherished memory as well.

Helen is survived by her sister Virginia Kocher of San Jose, CA; she was predeceased by her husband David Beckwith and sister Mary Lou Smith.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to your local Alzheimer's association.
