Elmira E. Yost, 91, of McClellanville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home August 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 18, 1935 in Camden, New Jersey, Elmira was the daughter of Charles Grant Feaster and Elmira Edith Ziegler Feaster. She was known for her generous spirit and compassionate heart. 

Elmira worked side by side of her husband, Gilbert, in their electrical business until they both retired. After Gilbert passed away, she moved to McClellanville to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Karol and Robert. She volunteered at the Center for Birds of Prey. She also volunteered at the food bank in Awendaw. Elmira had a heart of gold for everyone she met. 

She is survived by her son-in-law, Robert W. Hodge of McClellanville; two grandchildren: Tracey Hanley of Johns Island and Billy Batts of Pennsylvania; step-grandchildren: Matthew Hodge and McKenna Hodge of Inman; and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was and continues to be truly loved by her family and friends who miss her dearly. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provide.
