On Thursday, August 3, 2023, Doris M. Marlowe (age 93) passed away peacefully at the Lowcountry Community Hospice House – Agape Care in Summerville, SC.

Doris moved to Charleston in 2014 and had been residing with her son and wife, Larry and Ruth Tocco. Previously Doris had been a life-long resident of New Jersey, most recently of the Leisuretowne section of Southampton.

Doris was born on March 6, 1930, in Westfield, NJ to Oliver and Mary (nee Tiver) Wispert.

Preceding her was first husband, Lawrence E. Tocco (1979), second husband, Charles W. Marlowe (2007), and daughter Barbara (nee Tocco) West (2015).

Surviving are daughter, Marie (nee Tocco) Hynes (Tim); son, Lawrence E. Tocco Jr. (Ruth); granddaughters, Amy Cowperthwaite, Tara Galloway, Lindsay Davis (Chris), Kelly Kozik (Mike), Lynsey Rushton (Mark); grandsons, William Cowperthwaite, Chandler L. Tocco, James Lutton (Samantha) and seven great-grandchildren.

Remembrances can be via donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Roper St Francis Hospice, or Charleston Animal Society

There will be no local services. Interment will be scheduled at a future date in Mt Holly Cemetery, New Jersey. Arrangements in Charleston, SC, are being provided by Charleston Cremation Center Funeral Home.
