Deborah Dianne Bligh, 69, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Deborah, who was lovingly known as Debbie, will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Debbie carried her strength, warmth, humor, and unmistakable spirit with her wherever she went. She spent 48 years married to her husband, Tom, and they eventually made a home in Charleston, SC. She lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and deep devotion to her family- the people who meant everything to her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Maxine Floyd and Glenn Nelson Floyd.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas Vernon Bligh and a proud and loving mother to Tara Lathan (husband Derek Lathan) of Charleston, SC, and Megan Gabris (husband Ryan Gabris) of Wellington, FL. She is also survived by her siblings, Glenda Mercurio- Tosto and Glenn Floyd.

She was an adoring grandmother to Ella and Sam Lathan, and Reese Gabris, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She shared a birthday with her granddaughter, Ella, which was a very meaningful and special connection.

She had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Tom Petty, with "I Won't Back Down" serving as a reflection of her strength and spirit. Debbie found happiness in life's simple pleasures- sharing laughter, enjoying her favorite sweet treats, and being surrounded by the people she loved most. She also had a remarkable ability to find humor even in life's hardest moments, bringing lightness and laughter when it was needed most.

Debbie had a gift for connecting with others, striking up conversations with anyone, and she made people feel seen and welcome wherever she went. Her friendliness and genuine warmth often left even strangers smiling, a reflection of the kindness she carried so effortlessly.

Equally important to Debbie were the lifelong friendships she built over the years. She deeply cherished the friends she grew up with and created countless lasting memories alongside them. These relationships remained very close to her heart throughout her life.
