Eric passed away with his daughter, Sydney, by his side at the age of 57.

Eric earned a Bachelor's degree in Textile Chemistry from North Carolina State in 1990 and a Master's degree in International Business from Wake Forest in 2004. He worked as a chemist and entrepreneur but found great joy in working in the fitness industry with Ferus Prime the last 11 years of his life. His jobs allowed Eric to travel over 1,000,000 flight miles all over the world including China, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

Outside of his professional life, Eric spent many years encouraging others in their fitness journey. He was a CrossFit trainer and would often open his home gym to friends, family, and neighbors. Eric enjoyed competing in various fitness events, once placing 2nd at the Pan Am games in Olympic lifting in 2012. He also loved being outside camping or on the water boating and fishing and living a simple life at his homes in Mount Pleasant, SC and Huntersville, NC.

Eric's family takes comfort in knowing he had a relationship with Christ and looks forward to seeing him again. He is survived by his three children, Sydney, Ben, and Harper, mother Wanda Willis (Jim Willis), father David Carpenter, brother Scott Carpenter (Catherine Carpenter), other family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 4th from 4:00-6:00 pm at Boat Launch Rd, Belmont, NC 28012.
