Charles Vernon Thompson Jr., of Wando, SC, a U.S Navy veteran, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather passed away on June 9, 2024 at the age of 74.

He was born on November 28th, 1949, to the late Charles V. Thompson and Helen D. Thompson. Charles Thompson Jr. started a career with the Navy in 1970 as a Plane Captain in the Reconnaissance Attack Squadron Three (RVAH-3) during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in November of 1975. After serving his country, he enjoyed a long career as a successful business associate for an international HVAC corporation. In this role, he was a leader, a friend, and a mentor who shared his knowledge and business expertise with many of his peers and community for over 25 years.

Charles Vernon Thompson Jr. is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mrs. Nola Thompson; sons, Charles Thompson and Rick Smith; daughter-in-law, Sarah Thompson; and his grandson, Maddox Thompson. He is also survived by siblings, Patricia Whittle, Daniel Thompson, and Lynn Thompson; his nephews, Cary and Craig Hall; niece, Yisett Hall; and great-nephew, Patrick Hall. Additionally, he is survived by many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Terry Forman, and brother, Frank Thompson.
