Charles Russell Scheider (Russ), 58, of Charleston, SC, passed away on July 19, 2026. Born in Mineral Wells, TX, on May 8, 1968, to William (Bill) and Dell Scheider, Russ would, however, affectionately refer to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia as his home. Russ lived a life defined by his immense capacity to love and by the beautiful, blended family he built over the years.

After graduating from James Madison University, Russ worked as a designer for Sea Island Kitchens and Classic Remodeling before becoming smitten with real estate. He owned a real estate business and was a proud member of a coaching business. He loved making connections with people, guiding them through difficult decisions, and encouraging them through the everyday challenges of the real estate world.

When Russ wasn't playing guitar, he enjoyed fishing, a quiet morning on the water, and tending his garden. Russ loved the outdoors and would spend more hours sitting on the porch watching the birds than he cared to spend indoors.

Russ was preceded in death by his child, Zena, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

At the time of his passing, Russ was surrounded by the love of his wife, Beth Dillenkoffer. Together, they enjoyed traveling up and down the coast and spending time with their blended family and growing flock of grandchildren.

Russ is also survived by his parents, Bill and Dell Scheider; his sister, Krista; and his brother, Jeffrey (Keali). He leaves an incredible legacy of love in his daughter, Kathryn (Jimmy) and her mother, Pamela; his daughters, Skylar and Bianca, and their mother, Natalie; his step-children, Liam (Sidney), Lucy, and Mary Alice; and his nieces and nephew, Aaron, Leah, and Joie. He was a proud grandfather - known affectionately as "Big Daddy" - to Blakelee, Kolsyn, and Tate. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his beloved dachshunds, Dennis and Doug.
