Barbara Davis Cox, 92, passed thru heaven's doors on 9/12/2023, surrounded by loving family. A memorial service will be held in the Mt. Pleasant Hibben United Methodist Sanctuary at 2:00 on 9/16/2023.  The family will receive friends and family in the vestibule at 1:00.

She was born 11/29/1930 in Hopewell, VA to Curtis Reginald and Lunez McDaniel Davis. They, with her brothers John Arthur and Charlie and sister Jane, later moved to Hemingway, SC where she met and married WS Cox, Jr.  She transitioned from devoted mother and housewife to a 'world traveler' enjoying bus tours, cruises, and international excursions with family and friends.  Sheeven filled one passport with entry stamps, requiring a second.

Her love and care for others was her true purpose in life.  Whether it was volunteering in an orphanage in Romania to stuffing Children's Christmas Shoe Boxes for Samaritan's Purse, she truly enjoyed doing for others over doing for herself.
