Ana Maria
Redondo
Jan 7, 1930 — Mar 10, 2023
Ana Redondo, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, peacefully passed away in hospice on March 10, 2023, at the age of 93. Despite facing numerous health struggles throughout her life, Ana never lost her fighting spirit. Recently, she bravely battled through surgery and rehabilitation following a fall, and it appeared as though she may pull through yet again. However, after spending 10 days in the hospital and one day in hospice care, doctors were unable to do anything further to alleviate her suffering.
Ana was a profoundly caring and selfless person. She devoted her life to her family and church always putting their needs before her own.
Born in Ecuador on January 7, 1930, Ana immigrated to New York in 1963 with her immediate family. She established roots in Queens, New York, where she owned her own home and held her only job as an Import/Export textile supervisor at Hearst Celanese. She worked tirelessly until her retirement in 1992, at the age of 62.
Ana is survived by her daughter, Diana Redondo McDonald, and son-in-law Robert McDonald, as well as her beloved granddaughters Ashley Kristine Hunter, (Tradd Hunter-Husband), Alana Marie McDonald, Amanda Bilodeau, (Andrew Bilodeau-Husband), Alexandra McDonald, great-grandchildren Penelope Grace, Camila and Brody.
Additionally, she leaves behind sisters Elsa Vitek, Maggie Rappa, Yolonda Ruiz, and Leonor Rivera, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her cherished brother, Carlos Borja.
She will forever be missed, but in the midst of our grief, we find solace in the knowledge that Ana is no longer in pain, and that she has been reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on April 22, 2023, at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, located at 56-15 213th St., Bayside, NY 11364, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels, a charitable organization close to Ana's heart.
