Alan Dale Forbes, 84, of Awendaw, SC, passed away on 04/08/2025 .

Alan was born in Danville, VA on 11/21/1940, a son of the late B.A. (Bookie) and Dorothy (Dot) Forbes.

Alan was a Vietnam vet. He retired from the Air Force and later retired from the National Security Agency, after working for over 20 years each. He enjoyed playing pinochle, fishing, and his lottery scratch-offs.

Alan is survived by a son, Kevin (Sam); daughter, Kitty (David); four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and brothers, Ted and Pete.

No funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.
