Adam Michael
Sanders
Nov 24, 1992 — Jul 24, 2023
Adam Michael Sanders, age 30, of Charleston, SC, passed away at the Medical University Medical Center after a brief illness on July 24, 2023, with his mother at his side.
Adam was born on November 24, 1992 to John and Cindi Sanders of Mount Pleasant, SC. As a toddler, Adam loved to snuggle and cuddle. He was a sweet and loving boy who even as a child had a keen sense of humor that he kept his entire life. As a young boy, he enjoyed being in Cub Scouts with his best friend, Andrew, and running back and forth from each other's houses. Later, he would start playing lacrosse and skating on his skateboard. Quite the daredevil, he scared the neighborhood mothers more than once with his antics. He continued skateboarding and added biking to his list of hobbies, often riding with his father in later years. As a pre-teen, he played bass guitar, sang in the school choir and his artistic side came out. At the time of his death, he had just started a side business utilizing his artistic talent. Adam also loved animals. He doted on his two labs and two beagles during his childhood and his own two dogs as an adult along with other assorted pets.
Growing up he spent summers having fun at the beach with his paternal grandparents, often surfing, which he learned from his maternal uncle. He attended Gwynn Valley camp on numerous occasions with his sister, Hannah, in NC near his paternal grandparents' home. Adam also loved to spend time at the home of his maternal grandmother, fishing and boating on her little lake, and visiting monuments and historical places in Charleston.
Adam worked at Amick Farms in Batesburg, SC before moving back to Charleston. He was a personal trainer and worked as a forklift driver before he died. Adam was also a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
Adam was predeceased by his father, John Michael Sanders; his grandfather, James Henry Sanders, Jr.; grandfather, Thomas Preston Aspinwall and grandmother, Camille Mallard Aspinwall; an uncle, Lane Allen Aspinwall and cousin Allen Shearer Ramsey. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia (Cindi) Aspinwall Sanders; a brother, Ryan David Sanders and two sisters, Dale Sanders Williams (Travis) and Hannah Caitlin Sanders, a nephew, Preston Zachary Williams and niece, Madeline Camille Williams. He is also survived by his grandmother, Gloria Allison Sanders; an aunt, Allison Sanders Ramsey (Bart) and several cousins.
A memorial service for Adam will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
